Safari drivers

Dubai College of Tourism has successfully trained and introduced 2,000 safari drivers into the tourism sector.

Safari driver training

International visitors seek new and authentic experiences, and Dubai’s desert is the perfect setting to discover how its Bedouin communities were transformed into today’s modern landscape.

As a safari driver, you will be the voice that tells this story. You will be able to talk confidently about UAE heritage and culture, answer questions and entertain guests, as well as have the technical expertise to drive a desert vehicle.

Dubai College of Tourism will provide you with this training. You will receive classroom and practical learning and assessments in order to prepare you for your final examination. Successful completion of this course is an essential element of the RTA licensing process for all safari drivers.

"My DCT training taught me many new things about the UAE and gave me the confidence to become a storyteller to the many visitors I now see on a daily basis. I remember having to give a presentation on the pearl trade and that's something I still use today as a safari driver, on our tours around the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve."
