The Dubai authorities will arrange for transportation services to and from the hotel for Returned Residents.
Residents of Dubai who wish to quarantine at a hotel instead of their homes will be responsible for their transportation to and from the hotel.

What is the food that will be served and how many meals will be provided?

At check-in guests will fill in a F&B tracking sheet (menu choice: veg or non-veg) and mention any medical/dietary requirements (allergies, high cholesterol, etc.). The food is served on a 3-course meal basis. All meal preparation is done under stringent health and safety guidelines advised by Dubai Municipality.

Are there any extra charges than the stated rates?

In case of positive test results, there are standard disinfection charges levied across all participating hotels which should not exceed 200AED/Room. This amount will be blocked at the check-in desk, and charged only in case of positive test results.

What is the testing and release procedure?

Returned Residents are tested upon arrival, and they can go into home quarantine or a quarantine hotel for 14 days if they can’t do the home quarantine.

Suspected case is a patient who presents with upper or lower respiratory symptoms with or without fever AND satisfying any one of the following criteria:

International travel history during the 14 days prior to symptom onset; OR
Been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case within 14 days; OR
Residing in a community setting where COVID-19 cases have been detected; OR
Cases of Influenza-Like illness without history of travel or known possible exposure.
Patient will be advised for quarantine at home while awaiting test results.
If the result is negative, the patient receives an SMS and the quarantine ends (except for close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case. The close contact should finish 14 days in quarantine regardless of the negative test result). However, the person is advised to self-monitor and to call the DHA hotline 800342, or refer to the nearest healthcare center or hospital for assessment and retesting if symptoms or fever arise (≥37.5˚C).
If the result is positive, the patient receives an SMS with the result and instructions for home isolation. Also, the health response centre gets notified with the lab result, the concerned team contacts the patient to inform of the result, conduct telephonic triage, and run the “checklist for home isolation”. The categories of patients are as follows:
If the patient is assessed to be unstable (moderate, severe or critical), the case is transferred to a hospital immediately. If the criteria for home isolation did not apply, the patient is referred to institutional isolation.
If the patient is assessed to be stable (asymptomatic or mild) and the home isolation criteria is fulfilled, he/she is given the option of home isolation, while ensuring the following:
1. Ensure that the patient installs the COVID19 DXB smart application and register themselves in it. Also, request the patient, or his/ her guardian if the patient is a minor, to sign the form of "acknowledgement and undertaking full compliance with home isolation requirements and regulations”. The consent could be signed electronically on the smart application.
2. Brief the patient about terms of all necessary guidelines.
3. Brief the household members about home isolation preparedness.
4. During home isolation, patient surveillance will be conducted regularly through the COVID19 DXB smart application.
5. Patients can receive support, consultations, and emergency response through the smart application.
6. Patient can also call the Dubai Health Authority’s hotline 800342 for advice at any stage, or for any emergencies or to request an appointment with the telemedicine clinic.

The above process also applies to patients who continue with home isolation after starting to be isolated at a hospital or a facility (a hotel or a building). The 14-day duration starts from symptom onset (in symptomatic patients where symptom onset date is known) or from date of the first positive PCR test (date of test conducted and not date of results reported) in asymptomatic patients or those with symptoms but symptom onset date is not clear.

If a patient refuses home isolation, the following applies:
1. Individuals will bear the cost of alternative institutional isolation (at a hotel or a building).
2. Institutional isolation, whether at hotels or buildings, will be provided according to the available capacity.
3. Employers are requested to provide institutional isolation for their employees.

Note: The government will cover the cost of institutional isolation for exceptional cases (for example: humanitarian cases).
